Treating Kidney Disease, Omega 3 Fatty Acids

The first thing to do for dogs and cats with kidney disease is to increase the Omega 3 fatty acids in their diet. Fatty acids help kidney cells function so that they can do the best job of clearing wastes from the blood.

The two best sources of Omega 3s are fish and ground flax. Nordic Naturals is an excellent source of fish oil and Designing Health, the maker of Missing Link, is an excellent source of ground flax.
